Dr. Paul Gates To Lecture at International High School
As part of its Distinguished Lecture Series, IHS proudly presents "Civil Rights, Then and Now" with acclaimed speaker, Dr. Paul Gates. The event will be held in the International High School Library at 9 p.m. on February 21. Admission to the lecture is free, but advance confirmation is appreciated. RSVP at 973-321-2250.
Special Joint Meeting Scheduled

Free H1n1 Vaccine Available For All Eligible Adults
FREE H1N1 vaccine will be administered to all eligible adults at 90 Delaware Ave. on Wednesday, February 10, 9:30 am-12:30 pm. Although no appointment is necessary a consent form must be filled out and signed. For more information call 973 321-0722 or view this flyer. Download the consent form as a pdf or word document. Earthquake In Haiti ... How Can I Help?
The recent tragedy in Haiti has created an unprecedented humanitarian disaster. Relief organizations are asking people for money to purchase basic necessities, such as water, food, shelter and medical supplies. For those interested in helping with these efforts here is a list of organizations you can go to online to make a contribution. Alternatively, to help immediately, you can simply text "HAITI" to "90999" and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross for aid to Haiti, charged to your cell phone bill.
free Hspa Preparation Classes
Students seeking to improve their scores on the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA) exam are encouraged to attend a series of free Saturday classes at five different locations: Eastside, John F. Kennedy, International and Rosa Parks High Schools, as well as HARP Academy. Classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with breakfast provided for students who arrive at 8 a.m. Students are expected to attend each class in the series. High School Academies Fair
High School Academies Fair: Eighth grade students advancing to high school in 2010 are encouraged to consider their school choice options by attending the upcoming Academies Fair. Representatives from all of the Paterson Public Schools high school academies and specialized programs will be on hand with valuable information and applications. New Date! The MJM Parent Resource Center along with the Department of Communications has created an archive of tutorial and informational videos for use by district parents, caregivers and teachers. Saturday School Programs
The Office of Academic Support is offering free, fun and educational programs for district students on Saturdays. Programs take place at three different locations including: School 27, New Roberto Clemente and School 15. Classes are available for students in third through eighth grades and include a nutritious breakfast. For more information you can view this video and download the program flyer. The State of New Jersey has a toll-free public information hotline at 1-866-321-9571. The number is operational from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Operators will be able to provide general information about H1N1, vaccine safety and availability information, symptoms of H1N1 and flu preventive measures.
Better Nutrition For A Better School Day
Make sure your child receives the free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast to which they may be entitled. Fill out the attached form (bilingual) and send it back to school with your youngest child. Instructions are available in English or Español. Only one application is needed per family. Your child may also be eligible for free or low cost health insurance through Medicaid.
